2 lbs of frozen köfte (Turkish meatballs) Köfte Revolution brand
2 cups of dry navy beans or 1 - 15 oz. can of white navy beans (drained and rinsed)
4-5 cups of water
2 medium tomatoes
1/2 half large red onion or sumac onions
2 sprigs of fresh parsley or ½ teaspoon of dry parsley
1 tablespoon of olive oil
salt and black pepper
First prepare Navy Beans Salad. If you use dry navy beans, cook it in 4-5 cups of water until the beans are tender, from one to two hours. Stir occasionally during the cooking time to prevent the beans from sticking to the pot's bottom. Drain the beans after beans are cooked. If you use canned navy beans, drain and rinse it under running cold water for a few minutes. Next, chop 2 medium tomatoes into small square piece and half of large onion into thin slices. Take 2 sprigs of parsley and cut it into small pieces. Put all ingredients (navy beans, chopped tomatoes, red onions, fresh/dry parsley) together in a large glass or ceramic bowl and add olive oil, salt & black pepper. Mix it well and serve it as a garnishing for köfte, when the meatballs are cooked and ready to eat.
Frozen köfte from Köfte Revolution is very easy to cook. Place frozen or defrosted meatballs on preheated grill or pan. Cook each side for approximately 7-10 minutes. Make sure to check if köfte has been fully cooked and meat doesn’t have any red color inside.
